154 games using 162 game settings

I am playing a Random Debut league with the historical year of 1951, so there are 154 games and 16 teams. The league started in 1946, so this is the 6th year.

If I set the game to use 1961 League totals, will it screw things up since in 1961 there were 162 games?

I hope this question makes sense.

I don't know.

Because, if I am not mistaken, in 1961, the American League had a 162 game schedule but the National League still had a 154 game schedule.

Because the AL had 10 teams while the NL still had 8.

Then the answer to Jeff is no; as in no problem.

Ok, thanks for the responses.

1961 wasn't a good choice because of the different schedules in the two leagues. Let's make it 1984; will the different amount of games change anything. Obviously, there is more totals because of the longer season. Maybe the league totals go on percentage and not raw totals??

The totals are in proportion to total AB. So if there are more or less AB the total H D T HR SF etc will change but the occurrence rate ie AB/HR will not.
