Free Agent bidding and arbitration

I’m locked into a battle for a free agent who has 3 option years and no MLB service time. We are now at around 1 year 9 mill.

If I win him for 9+ mill, how much will he cost me next season? His 1 year contract will be over and he will have a year or less of service time, so will he be league min, or arbitration (if arb, would it stay at 9+ mill bc of the contract)?

I think the contract would auto-renew at whatever you sign him for, I've seen a few of those players in my league

It'll auto renew at the same salary pre-arb.

A little trick is that you can exploit that and offer a 2/18 or 3/27 for brownie points with the player.
