Unhappy Lack of homeruns and super stars

Hey yall, for some reason whenever I start a fictional game, my league always lacks homeruns. I'll simulate from 1920 - 2002 and there will only be two players who have hit 60+ home runs and quite a few in the 40's - 50's. I also noticed that I never really have any standout players. No Babe Ruth's, Ty Cobb's, Ted Williams's, Joe DiMaggio's, Sandy Koufax's etc.

My League settings are as follows -
Under Stats & AI I have my "League Totals" set to the year I begin the simulation and I have the "Automatically adjust league totals modifiers for accuracy" box checked as well as the "Automatically adjust league strategy when advancing to the next season" box checked, located under the import settings section. In the players tab I have the "Automatically import historical player-creation modifiers" box checked. I have also raised the Talent Change Randomness setting to 140 with hopes of getting some sort of stars but yet no dice.
I also have all the minor league tiers (from (AAA) to (R)) and they are all filled with teams as well as affiliated with a major league team.

Anyways, I love this game I have a blast with the other leagues but the fictional ones never come out the way I want them to. All help is welcomed, and thank you for taking the time to read this post.

When you start in 1920 and use the actual historic league settings for every year, you will always recreate actual MLB history in total--not in specific players. Since the number of players with 60 homers through the 1970's was 2 -- Ruth and Maris--you will usually have two or three at most.

Another way to set up a fictional league is to pick a year that has what you are looking for. 1987 produced lots of homers and lots of steals with starters going for complete games. Since I liked that, I choose that year and untick the historic boxes. That way I get the totals and luck into individual highs that I like.

Thanks!

I do something similar with a range of seasons blended and I'm happy with the numbersand the great historical players produced as a result.
