Starting a fictional MLB based Universe in OOTP22 - Questions

Hi Guys,

In anticipation of OOTP 22, had some questions.

So, in OOTP 22, I will be starting a fictional / quasi historical MLB based Universe from 2019. This is my first time starting a "fictional" or at least quasi-fictional Universe in this case.

I will pick a historical start (2019), add in a couple fictional teams to the West, restructure the league etc….for 32 teams, two large "divisions" in each league, so 4 total between AL and NL.

My goal: Use this structure, but use pre-2015 modifiers / stats going forward.

Anyways, I have questions about league settings and need some help.

I noticed in the league settings screen, on the left it states: “Historical Year”.

It seems like we have 3 years:

1. League Creation: Enter Starting year = 2019 (where I want to start).

2. League settings (left side) League Strategy, AI and STATS Modifiers 2014 (I want this to be before the juiced ball issues).

3. League settings (right side), is this the output from the left side? Seems like I can and need to select the year.

So, if I select a year on this right side, I would likely need to “lock it” right? In order to avoid the issues from mid-2015 on., and uncheck the “Automatically Adjust for accuracy”, as the years progress.

Let me know what you guys think about all of this,

That should work. I'd create it now and save it as a template.

Then sim a year at a time checking the stats, etc to ensure the game is behaving how you want.

Also, for league settings (left hand side) make sure 'auto adjust league strategy when advancing to next season' is also unticked.
