what is the difference between steam or Game Pass

So, I have been playing the game on Game Pass for the past few months. I just went and bought the game on steam for the $4.99 deal.

What benifits are there for having it on steam vs game pass (except for the actually owning the game) Does the workshop central work on steam where it does nothing on Game Pass?

All I did was renamed my OOTP folder in documents to allow the new install to create it's new one and then copied all my info and its right where I left off.

But is there anything special over having it on steam?

You own it forever with Steam.

Access to Steam Workshop also helps with mods, not that there's ever been a ton.
