Ive just been told that the league is expanding. Do I have a choice in this? It seems i do. If so do you reccomend it? Any tips or insights?
Thanks |

Expansion teams are a lot of fun! Generally, the only way that I play. If you want to turn it off, you need to go to the Options screen, and unclick the box "Enable automatic evolution of the league".
If you already received a notice, it may be too late to change it, not sure. If you decide to take over an expansion team, in my case, I choose the Montreal Expos and put them in the NL East, and the Mexico City Diablos, and put them in the AL West, as I do this manually. You can't add two teams in just the NL, or two in the AL. Game won't let you as the leagues won't be balanced. Also, when I do the expansion draft, to make taking over an expansion team more challenging, I allow teams to protect say 29-30 players. And also protect any players with four years of service. The default of three years leaves too many really good young players unprotected by the AI. Hope this helps and good luck! |

Also, make sure you check the box in rules, all the way at the bottom on the right, "Expansion Teams Draft First". That way in the first season, your team and the other expansion team will draft first and second. Only fair really, and it doesn't matter what your record is in early June when the draft comes up. And it is only for the first season.
