I set up an historical league with an expansion team and a full draft. At the end of the season at the July 1 date, the team disappeared. My first hint was looking at email on July 1 and I had been relieved of my duties after winning the cup. Such a shame... but then I could not find the team either.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you had the "Teams stop playing when they did historically" option on. In that case, there's no history for your new team in the database, so the game will deactivate it on the first July 1 it reaches. If you haven't continued the game yet, you may be able to revert back to a pre-July 1 save by copying the contents of your rs_one subfolder (or if that doesn't work, rs_two) into your main save folder, overwriting the files there. If one of those backups moves you back before July 1, turn that option off and your team will be preserved.
