Some suggestions I have been thinking of

Hello OOTP Devs and Community,

Over the past few years I have been thinking of possible things that should be fixed or added to future versions of OOTP to make it more realistic (?). Here are a few that I can think of right now.

1. Veteran's Committee with the HOF voting. Pretty self explanatory here. You can vote for a player who qualifies for induction to the HOF via veteran's committee (Mattingly, Dwight Evans, etc).

2. Managers getting into the HOF. Over countless sims I have seen managers rack up great win/loss records and many championships (I'm looking at you, Dave Roberts). It would be cool to see them be eligible to become a HOFer after they retire.

3. A fixed HOF voting system. Despite players with low WAR (like Ichiro or Yadi Molina), many would agree that they are HOF worthy. They usually take YEARS to get in, and maybe even do not get in at all. I think that the game should take more than Blank Ink or WAR to consider their HOF worthiness. Look at how many hits they had, how many times they led the league, career ERA, etc. I feel like HOF voters IRL take more stats into consideration.

4. More historical minor league logos. I have noticed that some minor league logos have been missing when I have done historical simulations. They will have a randomly generated logo such as a letter or their team name spelled out. Usually you can easily find them through a Google Image search. I don't know if this a copyright thing or legal issue, but it'd be cool to see more historical minor league logos added in the future.

5. Point system following the season like in FHM. When I first played FHM and completed a season, I was given points on how well I did during a season. I could then disperse those points into coaching or general manager categories. It would help a lot in being a GM and negotiating a contract or extension, or how well you manage a game if manager. It would also add more than just your season end score.

6. Favorite/Disliked teams. This is also in FHM. It would help bring more realism to where a player signs. For example, Trevor Bauer and Ramon Laureano would have the Astros as a disliked team. You could also add this to historic/retired players, adding their team where they played most of their careers to their favorite team category.

That is all I can think of for now. If any of these features or planned, please leave a reply. Thanks!

Are you quite sure that the game only uses WAR and Black Ink (I'm assuming that is what you meant when you typed Blank Ink above) as the methods of determining who gets into the Hall of Fame? And, just to clarify, how many times someone led the league in a major category, well, that is Black Ink. That's the very definition of the thing.
OOTP clearly details other Hall of Fame criteria like JAWS, HOF Monitor, HOF Standards, Gray Ink, etc. So I'm fairly certain that all of those are factored into OOTP Hall of Fame voting results, and most of what you have mentioned here does fit within one of these tools.

I should probably point out that I'm not trying to bring negativity to your ideas above, many of which I like. (I certainly would love, especially, to see managers and even other front office types, have the opportunity for Hall of Fame induction.)

I get what you are trying to say. I should have just clarified more. I just think they should just tweak it more I guess and make players who are worthy like Ichiro and Yadi get in sooner than they do in game. In real life, I believe that both are 1st ballots hall of famers easily, Ichiro more likely I think.

Check in the mod section, don't know the name but I got a file some years from Tiger Fan with 2 325 logos, 3 299 jerseys and 2 594 ballcaps of historical minor league teams he compiled from various creators.

The scv file list everything that was included...

If you can't find it I can upload it on my 1fichier account if you want...
