Draft List Help

I'm running an online league with a few friends that is a mix of CPU and Human owners. I'm trying to get us to us draft lists. When we go through a round and I update the file at the beginning of next round, the game does not remove players from the Human draft lists. Is there anything I need to be doing to allow this to be easier on everyone so they dont have to manually remove everyone every round? I want them to be able to consolidate lists and add guys each round as we go without it being cluttered with guys who've been taken. (Everyone has the box checked about unavailable players, but it wont remove drafted guys from the actual draft lists on the right side)

I don't know if this still works with OOTP 21, but read the bottom of this older manual page to see how to manage this. https://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com...ge=draft_lists

Ive read the outdated manual. Our issue is not listed there. The actual draft lists are not removing picked players. The list of players available is accurate.

Go to the Technical Support forum and the Bug Reports sub-forum. Post there and maybe someone from OOTP Developments can help. It's been many years since I played in an online league, so I can't remember if this is happening by design. But maybe there is a setting somewhere that needs to be adjusted, or maybe it is a bug.

Draft list in game does not work any differently between Online Leagues and Solo leagues. You cannot do what you are attempting to do in game. If you desire to use solely the list you'll need to sim the entire draft, or people will have to recreate round one each time you update the file manually determining what is left.

My suggestion, if you are intent on taking advantage of the in game list...

Let folks use the list, sim the entire draft. If you are using GMs they will make picks for you once the list is expended. If I was a GM in the league I'd make maybe a round and a half worth of list and let the GM pick the later players.

Not ideal, but easy and allows people to prioritize their first pick or 3.

[edit] Clarification: It will not do what you want it to do without a tremendous amount of work on your part via the Player Editor... which I def do not recommend.

Sweet. Thanks for the reply. Just didn't make any sense as when I tested it out, with a one owner online league, the game did remove players from my list as they were drafted. One would think the draft list would be setup to work as follows: Import lists, do a round or two, players come off lists as they do in solo player, update file, repeat....blows my mind as one would think this would be the main use of draft lists. Online leagues.

Most online sports simulation leagues use draft lists so the commissioner can simply run the entire draft all at once. And most baseball sims have had no draft list functionality anyway. It's all done manually, and the leagues don't pause and do updates to the draft lists after a few rounds. OOTP was probably programmed with this in mind, but I agree that it can seem counter-intuitive because OOTP's online league file updates and functionality could easily enable a more modular approach.

Agreed. Taking out the removal of players from draft lists for only the online multiple person league but do it in a solo seems like a weird decision.
