Advertising in a full priced game is bad form. You want to make it free to play with advertising? Fine. But this **** is garbage.

You can turn off those ads. Go to settings and I think it’s in misc.

This seems like not a big deal, especially if you can turn it off like BaseballNewsNow said. It's not like they are spamming us while we play, that would be annoying. But I'm sure OOTP benefits in some way for doing these ads, so I really don't mind.

Advertising revenue reduces the full price, and this particular ad is neither obtrusive nor unrelated to OOTP's subject matter.

OOTP is much less expensive than its principal competitors. I don't begrudge it the extra shekels derived from an occasional advert.

It took more work for me to turn my head sideways to read that ad than it does to turn off ads in the global settings screen.

I was thinking the same thing. I really dont care if there is ads or not. It's on a splash screen I believe so you see it for 10 seconds every time you turn the game on?

I'm surprised there isn't real advertising in the ballparks, seems like they're leaving money on the table. I actually wouldn't mind this, it'd be more realistic than all the OOTP signs.

I’ve been thinking this for years! I don’t know why sports games don’t capitalize on that. Even though the prevalence of ads is annoying, real ones are far better than fake ones

Both fake and real ads are annoying if they are badly done. The current OOTP ones are pretty bad, for sure.

I do think that as the 3D gets a bit better over the next few versions it would be nice to see more realistic, if not actually real, ads.

Hell, if I ever get my wish of there being more default fictional stadiums it would be cool to have them all be different ad wise.

Well, as of right now, the "full-priced game" is on sale for $19.99. The regular retail is $29.99.

Buy a normally full-priced game and it is $59.99 and you're usually still wanting (needing?) microtransactions, that they usually pelt you with in force.

You can turn this off, if you are that bothered by it, which makes this even more of a headscratcher... I'm all for "railing against the man" but OOTP Developments is certainly not "The Man" and this certainly doesn't seem to be going well...

you should probably stop playing. it's completely ruined the experience for you.

on that note, if that sort of once in a blue moon thing keeps OOTP at half the price of nearly any other game out there, i don't have any issue with you.

but definitely stop playing. i'd recommend launching your download into outer space as a protest.
