OOTP21 NCAA Feeder League Changes
In previous versions I would occasionally create leagues that included both a realistic NCAA setup as well as a fairly typical MLB setup (including minors). I would manage an NCAA team but I liked to have the MLB around so that I could follow the careers of my former college players that made it to the big leagues. I would have the NCAA league(s) set as feeders for MLB.
It appears as though there were some changes introduced in v21 that make it impossible to set this up the way I used to, though, as the player creation and player age limit setting are no longer independent. When I set the age limits to 17/22, I am forced to use the same values for my player creation ages. This means that the players that appear in the draft pool that feeds my NCAA league are not really incoming freshman. A quarter of the players in the draft pool have only one year of NCAA eligibility remaining. The alternative is to remove the player age limits and set the player creation ages to 17/18, which is where they should be for a college league. The problem then, of course is that a college team can sign some 40 year old MLB slugger.
Is there a way to get the effect I'm looking for in v21 or do I need to wait for a future version? Out of curiosity, what prompted the change? I thought that being able to set league age limits and player creation ages independently worked pretty well in previous versions.
