2D Engine Discussion/Questions/Suggestions A single forum for posts about the new 2D match engine. so we can keep that better-organized. Bug reports should still go in the regular Technical Support/Bug Reports forum, but if you're not sure if something is a bug, either forum is fine.

2D and PBP

I've noticed that the PBP might say "puck recovered by x" then, even though the play goes to the other end of the ice and up to 15 seconds of game time elapses, the PBP gives no more info. Couldn't at least all hits/give-aways/take-aways and blocked shots be noted in the PBP rather like the old highlight scroll.
The puck obscuring the puck carriers number doesn't help. Names of on-ice players somewhere on the rink image would be helpful.

The introduction of 2D, for me, is a big improvement and I'm sure it will continue to improve like 3D in OOTP over recent versions, so thanks FHM team!

Yup, that's exactly what I want to do next with the PBP. We can't use so much of the old text because it over-describes everything and would make no sense when compared to the animated action, so better to just tell you precisely, but very briefly, what just happened like that highlight scroll did.

We wanted to do more with the player images, but ran out of time. Better location of the numbers, option for names, moddability so people can design their own. You'll be seeing some changes there.

Jeff, thanks for your reply, that all sounds really promising. Look forward to the changes.
