How do I import Negro League players EASILY in 1901-1920
By knowing some negro league players and dissecting the master.csv I can find some players, but most are hard to import as they sometimes say they cannot be found
What file in the stats folder should I use? Also is there a file somewhere that is grouped by year that I can use to import? I made the PCL an independent league in 1901 that is not segregated and I'd love to have the Negro League FA play in there until Calvin Coolidge can desegregate for good in 1925 |

If you select to import and maintain real minor leagues and players all Negro Leaguers in the database will import automatically. I did something very similar with OOTP19 and it should work the same for 21. I did a tutorial here but I think you have everything down if you have added the PCL around 1901.

i am no longer certain where i got this .csv list, most likely from Spritze when the Negro Leagues were first introduced to the game a few years back. at the time it was all the Negro League players that were in the game. i am not certain if there have been more added. it's sorted alphabetically, but it can be sorted by debut year. it also has the player ID's for those players. Hope it helps.

I created the American Association and International League as AAA farm clubs, Southern Association & Texas League as AA & Eastern League & Western League as A as all fictional I guess that won't work. Maybe I should just go back to 1871, make a 6 team NL from the get go and slowly build up the teams while using deadball era but gradually make them 4 man pitching staffs and see if I can have a normalized league until HRs become a threat in the 20s Last edited by Carlton; 12-14-2020 at 08:11 PM. |

hmmm. that's one i've not seen. and Seamheads ID doesn't work? that's not good, as Seamheads was the main ID source for the Negro Leagues Spritze told me once. i did find this entry in a book i have: "The Biographical Encyclopedia Of The Negro Baseball Leagues." Turner, Thomas (career 1947 - Position 1B. Team: Chicago American Giants. He was a backup- first baseman with the Chicago American Giants in 1947" that is the entire write-up in the book.
But the book (printed in 1994) has no player IDs or anything. i found this note on Baseball Reference: " Tom Turner was an American Negro League baseball player. He was nicknamed "High Pockets." A pitcher and first baseman, Turner played for the Cincinnati Stars in 1936. While in the military during the early 1940s - he was drafted into the Army, though he did not serve overseas during World War II - Turner played for the Service Command Unit baseball team. After returning to civilian life, Turner played briefly in Mexico. Returning stateside, he played for the Chicago American Giants in 1947 and later the Valley Tigers. " Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Tu...ets_Turner.jpg) has the same write up, but has a photo of the gentleman. To get him in the game without a known player ID, you'd have to create a new player (from the free agent page) ... give a few bits of info (age ,etc) and then when the game gives you a bogus fictional name, write it down, search for that player and edit with the correct info - as sparse as it is. Maybe mixing it with anything Seamheads has .... hope this helps, i know it's not what you were looking for, but it's the best i could find.

Thanks Tiger Fan for the lesson. I have been away from the OOTP game for some time now but I have been doing some research of the Negro Leagues. I noticed another Negro Leaguer in the minors in 1898, Carlos Royer, actual a Cuban players. Since I haven't played the game in a while... 2016. Can you tell me will these minor leaguers ever have a chance of making it to the bigs?
