Can't Hire Scouts

Hey all, just started up a Hartford Whalers expansion franchise and not even blasting Brass Bonanza will convince this game to let me hire some new scouts.

It's my first go round with FHM 6 but don't think I've missed anything. I head over to the Staff tab and then Free Agents. When I right click on the available scout, nothing happens. And when I left click on the available scout and enter their individual page, the tab on the far right is greyed out. I can manually hire them via Edit but really want to avoid the hassle if at all possible. Any thoughts?

I should point out that it's about a month after the Expansion Draft and I'm using a Mac OS Mohave -- not sure if either matters.

Did you set yourself as the GM of the Hartford?

Yeah I set myself up as GM/Coach.

Check your budget! I know that sounds crazy, but there is a small chance you don't have the budget to hire any now.

This is also possible. Can you screenshot us your staff list?

I finally figured out the issue. I wanted to have control of my AHL team and I stumbled upon an old Reddit post that said if you started a Standard game/online league, you could add a second manager to serve as GM/Coach for your AHL affiliate.

For whatever reason, even though one manager was GM/Coach of the Whalers and the other of the AHL affiliate I created, the game didn't like that the first manager was not only GM/Coach of the Whalers but also serving as commissioner.

So in the end I conceded to AHL autonomy and turned my attention back to the Whale. Appreciate the response though. And equally glad I found this game.
