A couple n00b questions

Haven't played FHM since the first version and bought 6 recently. A couple questions that I couldn't find in the manual or a quick forums search
1) What does it mean when it says a player is "waiver eligible: no (2020)" or "waiver eligible: no (2017)"? Is this the same thing as waiver exempt, and it's telling me the player is not exempt from waivers and the year this went into effect? I have some very young players where the answer is "no (2022) etc so I don't think my hypothesis here can be right.

2) Will I get a warning in the off-season if I am about to lose the rights to an unsigned player (like a college player, not an NHL player)
3) I have searched high and low in commish mode for where to adjust the cap...Where can I do that?
Thanks for any and all answers.

1. Yes. It means if/when they require waivers.
2. No. All that information is just listed in your Unsigned Draftees.
3. You need to have Commissioner Mode turned on, then it's available Under League. EDIT.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply.

I don't totally follow on the waiver thing. I've checked a couple dozen guys and they all have "no". I checked a bunch of young guys on my AHL team too.If this "waiver eligible" is to mean :"waiver exempt" shouldn't young players, like some first year pros, have "yes"?

And the inclusion of the year in parentheses, next to where it says "no", not sure what context that adds since everyone is "no"

Edit: Oops, disregard this question. Didn't realize there was a save button I had to hit before leaving the page. I'm so used to having to hit enter to save $ changes from OOTP.

Have another question in addition to the waivers clarification. Is something up with editing contracts? At the start of 2019, Jakub Vrana is signed for 3 years at a cap hit of $3.35m. In real life, he is acually only signed for 2 years at that point. I tried to zero out the third year of his deal, but now the contract won't save any of my changes (hitting enter and all that)
Now, regardless of what I enter for his contract, the deal defaults to a 3 year deal with a cap hit of $2.51m. Year 1: $832,500 Year 2: $3.7m Year 3: $3m. Any idea why trying to edit the contract would cause the game to default to a contract that isn't the original? Any way to override this?

Thanks for any and all help.
