What am I doing wrong?

I have tried multiple times to resume a season that I want complete control over, but after every scheduled day's games I have to re-edit most player's positions and redo all the rosters. I'm listed as commissioner and my name is next to every aspect of control in manager settings mode. In the five days of the season I've tried everything so far. I started out as manager and GM of a team, then fired myself from that team to see if that would solve the problem. Still no luck. At first I didn't mind redoing everything but this is starting to get tedious and I find myself losing interest. In the beginning I relied on 'save daily' and then I started saving before I'd shut everything down, and now I'm worried the only option left is to keep the program open all the time. I'm as low tech as you can get and I'm not sure that keeping the game on 24/7 is possible. I fell in love with this game immediately upon downloading it. Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong before I simply give up!

If you want control over everything, you will need to set yourself as the GM of all teams. So in the league setup page, there's a function in the middle column to "Set all teams controlled by <you>" (or something like that). In that case, it should treat all teams as human and obey your control settings.

A step further is to disallow all AI moves, which I believe is also in that same list of functions. If the above setting doesn't give you the control you need, then this will add another strict check.

I just double checked and I had those settings on already. ‘Set all teams to not allow AI roster changes.” And my name is still there on ‘Set all teams to controlled by...’
I even tried hitting ‘vacant’ for each teams’ GM but it won’t let me enter my name

I’m considering starting over one last time to see if it works. If you have any more suggestions that’d be great, but if not, thanks for trying.

You need to make sure to hit the buttons to enable them, they're fixed text telling you what action will be taken when you do it.

The other part to check is to make sure the "do not disturb" button in your manager settings is not enabled, or that will also allow AI changes.

I just got something new after going through the settings again...a message in the Orioles managers office about a player complaint. Hadn’t seen anything like that yet and I’ve never tried running the O’s so I’m guessing that’s a good sign.
