So excited for this!! Woo Hoo!!
So excited to hear this!! I emailed Derek over at Grey dog (TEW and WMMA) to ask if he was seriously considering doing a boxing game. This was his response!!
"Hi there, Yes, a boxing game is definitely going, and the first 4 screens are already finished. Title Bout and Leather, among others, will be used for inspiration. The interface will be slick and polished, and you can control up to 3 different boxers in different weight divisions and their career path. And yes, it will feature a career mode with aging, etc. It will be titled Counterpunch Boxing Manager. I project a December/January finishing date, roughly, depending on how testing goes." |

WMMA is a really really good game, and would be an excellent platform for Boxing, that is very exciting. Its so modable as well. I would be very interested as well. If you hear anything let me know since I don't check over there. Thanks for posting this.

I love WMMA. Absolutely love it. But Derek is not the developer of that game. To be honest, I'm not sure there is going to be a deep, realistic boxing game with believable fight results if Derek is the developer.

Adam Ryland is the designer and developer of WMMA. Now, if HE were to develop a boxing game, then I would be very excited. But he reportedly is not interested in boxing.

I must have played WMMA wrong. I have the game, not sure what version, but I found it very hard to get into. It felt so promotion based where you had to find ways to get popular. I do have TEW, so perhaps I have confused things.
Any suggestions on how to play? |

Forgive my ignorance, who is Derek? Is he a software developer/programmer?

With WMMA, if you sign good fighters and make interesting, exciting fights, fans will attend your bouts and buy your pay-per-view, and your company will become more popular.

Controlling only 3 boxers is a bit of a disappointment, perhaps as the game develops this will change? |

I still hold out hope of a version of my board game Glory Days Boxing on CPU, with a career mode added. Sadly the programmer I was working with is not ready to resume the project.
