I was interested in buying OOTP 21 today, but I have enjoyed OOTP 20 enough that I hate to lose it before I know if I like OOTP 21.
I only download games to my desktop. I don't use Steam. Would my purchase of OOTP 21 overwrite OOTP 20? Thanks! (Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it in old threads.) |

I am using Steam, but I would assume it would work with or without Steam. I have both games on the same PC, and they both work fine.

EDIT:
Sorry, this needs to be edited... my computer knowledge is not so good... I used gigabytes when I think it should have been megabytes.... percentage-wise, I used 93% of my hard drive storage space... after removing 5 old versions of OOTPB and lots of music files, I now am using only 30% of my computer storage space. Storage space could eventually be a problem if you have a long-running league with millions of files. My computer recently started having memory problems... it was caused by OOTP12, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. I have 1,000,000 gigabytes of storage space... OOTP and my vast music library took 960,000 gigabytes... leaving only 40,000 gigabytes of free space. I removed all OOTP versions except 21... and it solved the problem. I now have 630,000 gigabytes of free space. Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-30-2020 at 04:40 PM. |

Storage space
Thanks, but space won't be an issue. I have a separate 2 TB drive dedicated to backing up OOTP league data.

Download the single-folder installation of OOTP. You will get a zip file. Open the zip file and copy the folder in the zip file to a directory on your hard drive. The name of the directory in the zip file is the version number. I'll often keep multiple releases of the same version to go back if I run into a bug. For this season my directory structure looks like this...
\ootp\ 21.3.48\Hope this helps! |
