Question on setting up "bullpen game" instead of starting a SP
Hi everyone,
I'm running a 5 man rotation in a league, strict order, but would like one of the spots in the rotation to be a purely bullpen game. I plan on playing matchups as the season goes along, but generally speaking, is there an easy way to set this up where I can just set it and forget it? Ideally I'd like to just let the AI handle it and tried leaving an empty spot in my rotation, but the game just skips to my next starter instead. Then, I tried putting a Follower in my rotation and an Opener in my bullpen as a secondary role, and the game didn't use my Follower at all (although I've only tried this for one game so far). I want this to be a 100% bullpen game. But I also want my "follower" to also be available on other days as a reliever, so I'd prefer not to stick him in my rotation and have him stuck in that role if it can be avoided. |

If the follower/opener thing didn't work, then I don't know what else to try.
Just putting a low stamina pitcher there with a low pitch count. But then that pitcher wouldn't pitch out of the bullpen You could allow starters to relieve, but that'd probably have unintended consequences. You could sim the other 4 games, then move a reliever into the the starting rotation, with a lowered pitch count, sim that game, then move the reliever back to the bullpen. But, because of the (in my opinion) faulty way OOTP fatigues pitchers, that pitcher might be excessively fatigued. |

"Bullpen Games" would be a great feature request.
I do not believe there is a good way to set this up within the game at this time even when playing things out manually, which in itself further illustrates the hole that currently exists in how stamina and pitcher useage is currently designed. |
