hook setting

So im my s3ttings for my starting pitchers there is a slider for hook, on the left its quick and to the right is slow...does that mean how long i keep him in the game like if a player has a high rating for stamina do i increase it to slow? am i correct or is this backwards, also since i'm also the manager would these settings even have any effect?

If you are managing every game then the hook setting won't really come into play. But if you are allowing the AI to decide when to go to the bullpen, yes, if you want a particular SP to stay in the game longer than "average" you should go towards the slow side. A Quick hook would mean the AI manager is more likely to yank him at the first sign of trouble as opposed to letting him pitch out of it.
