Live Start ratings vs PT Live Cards
What is the difference between Live Start player ratings and the Perfect Team Live Card ratings for a given player. In my end of the season LI’ve Start with scouting turned off and AI evaluation at 100% ratings, Cody Bellinger is rated at 3.0 stars (3.5 with the default AI evaluation percentages). I looked at the final Live Card update on the PT forum and saw that he still had his original 100 rating. A discrepancy of this size would seem to be due to a fundamental difference between the two “Live” Bellingers.
In general, I feel that the small sample size of the current season is disproportionately driving the Live Start ratings. Additionally, the Live Start ratings contain many more outliers like 70+ Movement (relative to MLB) relievers than the original game world. I would suspect that, in addition to the (in my opinion) excessive weight given to the 2020 MLB stats, these stats are being used as raw inputs whereas the initial ratings against which they are being weighted are the output of trying to predict performance based on prior season statistics subjected to some regressions.
