Help!
Just got the game. I’m playing in commissioner mode because I want to control all transactions in 1974, but it seemed to want me to pick a team to run. So I chose the Expos. I was able to set every teams’ rotation and lineups but I can’t do any transactions, just for Expos. And I’d like to not be a GM of any particular team for the time being. How do I make all this happen without having to start all over again?

You don't have to be the GM - simply staying unemployed as the commish you can still go in and edit things.
To perform individual actions on any team, though, you will need to "Act As" that team, and then you should have no trouble to move players around. You will also need to make sure that the AI cannot do any roster moves - in the league setup page, there are functions to either have all teams under your control, or to prevent AI roster moves. They do act slightly differently - preventing AI roster moves will prevent anything, so you will need to manually handle all transactions and rotations and roster moves and everything. Setting all teams to human control you can adjust your control settings so that the AI could still set lineups and rotations, but you handle all roster moves. |

Also, depending upon how you want to perform transactions, you don't necessarily have to "act as" a particular team to make things happen. For examples:
- If you want the Rays to sign Joe Schmoe as a free agent, you need to "act as" the Rays in order to sign him. - If, however, you simply want Joe Schmoe to be on the Rays (whether he is a free agent or not), you can edit Joe Schmoe to be on the Rays. This does not need to be done in "act as" mode. Perhaps you already knew this, just fyi. Last edited by thehef; 10-09-2020 at 08:01 PM. |

Thanks a lot guys! Really helped! My new issue is I’m in Spring Training and I still don’t have complete minor league rosters yet. ST roster total is 43 instead of close to 60, and I double checked...I’m still in commish mode and am listed as in complete control of everything. ?

You should be able to hop into that team and you can drag and drop any player from any level of that org to the ST roster, up to 60. They do not need to be on the 40 roster.

One more quick question...why do I keep having to edit names and positions? I’ve changed Ron Santo from a 2b to a 3b at least 5 times already. I’m hitting enter after every change like it says to do...

If you go to strategy and click on player strategy and drag Ron down, there is a drop down that you can force a start at a position. Do that.
