Real Teams, Fictional Players

Hello!

I'm seeing lots of people inquiring about how to create leagues with real players in fictional teams, but I'm interested in the exact opposite.

I want to begin a league where I can run a real team, the Boston Red Sox for example, and play in their proper city, at their proper stadium, using their proper financials, etc. Yet, I want to use fictional players.

I'm sure the option is in there somewhere, I can just feel it. I just can't find it.

Any help would be appreciated!

There are a few ways to do this and I have not tried any of these ways in several versions.

#1
Start with the year you want and while in Commish Mode dump all players into FA and delete them. Either fill rosters with fictional players or have a new draft with fictional players. Turn off the players options under Historical players so no real players import. Should be good to go at that point. You can also fire all real coaches and delete them. As long as the evolution box is checked teams will still change as they did and so will stadiums.

#2 create a custom league with the parameters you want which gives you fake players and just use the historical modifiers for the financials.i did something similar for my ABF league. You would have to manually import stadiums and name changes and expansion.

If you're interested in doing this with the modern day setup, you can select create a fictional league and if you look just right of center, you will see "or select a real world league configuration." The top option creates the modern day setup and with all the real teams and minor leagues, but all the players will be fictional. Name: cookies_n_cream_1992-11-15_17-47-39.jpg
