Manager Only / Doubleheaders / Starting Pitchers
I'm the manager only of the Phillies. Due to a rainout, we were scheduled for a doubleheader. After the doubleheader, I realized that for the 4 days my Starting Pitchers were starting on 4 days rest, not 5. Plus, I had to burn my Bullpen going forward. Again, as the manager only, I had no control regarding call up for the second game of the DH or to fill the gap in the next 4 days. This game is so accurate, I'm assuming this is just a flaw. Any input on this would be appreciated. .........Thanks

I don't have a good solution for you, I'm sorry. I play as GM, so I never thought about the situation you're currently in. Does you team carry a Long Reliever? Or, do you have a Middle Reliever with 40 Stamina or higher? If so, obviously start him next. And next time this happens, start that LR/MR in one of the games.
I'm going to assume you know all of that and would have done so if you could. Sadly, I don't know what else to tell you...besides turning on Commissioner Mode so you can quickly call up a pitcher or whatever it is you urgently need. Then turn off Commissioner Mode. Geez, I really don't know what else you could do. I wish I could have provided you with some good help. Sorry.

in your example did you have any days off to give you some reprieve and for me i have the first game letting starter go the distance as much as possible basically throwing him to the wolves as i am not gonna worry so much about one game among 162 and just use the 2nd game as the game to continue on as both pitchers will be on 100% rest and your relievers should be near or at 100% as well. I do not let DHs bother me too much. I am old school MGR i let starters go as far as they can then use relievers at that point. Score determines when i become caption hook

Nope, No long relievers with stamina of 40 or above, only 30. Thanks for your reply anyway!

Thanks for your response. I'm in my 3rd year as manager only. How would I turn off the Commissioner Mode just for this purpose? I'm sure I could figure it out but don't wanna screw my whole season trying. Thanks

Click on your Manager Name > Manager Options > Look at the right half of the screen, up top. You'll see it shows you what your current role is. Just underneath that is the checkbox "Play in Commissioner Mode". When it's enabled, you have God-like control over every aspect in your baseball world.

A couple of cautions: 1. You will need to make any roster moves on the day of the game. If you do it before advancing to the next day, the AI will obviously help you out by correcting your "mistake." 2. Unless you change the roster limits, you'll still have to send a batter or reliever down to bring up your pitcher. |
