Historically Accurate Number of Leagues
Hi all,
I was curious - is there a way to have the historically accurate number of leagues emerging at any particular time (i.e. - only the NL in 1876, AA as a major league in the 1880s, AL emerging in 1900, Federal League in 1914, etc.) |

Probably depends on the details of what you are trying to do. Without those, the answer is "perhaps, but it would take a lot manual work."

My thought was this....start with an NL team at the birth of the NL in 1876, seasons with only the NL excluding the seasons in the 19th century with the AA or PL, 1901 the AL coming in, real-life expansion timeframe.....basically a "re-enactment" I guess you could say of the teams that were in place between 1876 and the present day. |

This would most-likely be a "fictional" league structure but with historical players. I think you can do that but as I said it would be a lot of manual work on the structure alone, even more if you want historically-accurate rosters.
I've never done fictional structure with historical players, so I'm not sure about it. You might want to try posting in the historical forum. There are some pretty experienced guys over there - including at least a couple who have done a lot of pre-1900's - who may have something to offer. Good luck! |
