BATT - Baseball All Team Tournament
There have been 2526 individual teams since 1901. The goal is to see if I can make it to the end of a tournament using all 2526 teams.
Heres the setup: All series best of 7.- 1263 of them in the 1st round Setting up a double elimination scenario - with adjustments as necessary to even out teams. Teams seeded by winning percentage - I chose to count all games even if not played to a win/loss conclusion. Settings by year of higher seed DH available at home games of teams that used it regularly Taking rosters at end of season and however the AI sets the team up. Injuries remain possible for just that series. I am alternating between playing the highest seed matchups and the middle of the brackets. Will post results of 13 series at a time as things begin. Also the series MVP and any notable results I observe. on to the first 13 results: |

Loving this.
Will you be giving a regular rundown of how each franchise is doing? IE How many teams they have left in the comp? |

Crossed my mind last night that it would be a good idea to do that. I think after roughly every 100 series (8 sets of 13) I will do that. I'm hoping to continue with roughly 1 set of 13 series a day.

RECAP THRU 8 GROUPS:
104 series - 208 teams have played. From the top half of the bracket 4 top seeds fall to the elimination bracket. 1998 Yankees, 1944 Cardinals, 2019 Astros, 1994 Expos. At the bottom of the bracket, after the last sim being heavily to the lower seeds, the result is equal, 26 higher seeds, 26 lower seeds. Considering all of those teams were at or around .500, that result is not a surprise. How many rounds will it take to decide the ultimate champion? I guess you'll have to do some repecharges along the way to get the numbers right?
And are you keeping cumulative individual player stats? Last edited by luckymann; 09-09-2020 at 11:13 PM. |

As for the main structure, it will take at least 10 rounds to get out of the winners bracket, and definitely more thru the elimination side. Yes, I will have to be creative on evening out the structure. just after round 1 alone there are 1263 winners and 1263 headed for the consolation bracket. I plan to rerank the teams for new matchups adding the tourney records to the real ones, and wiill pull a team from the winners side to battle the extra from the losers side. winners bracket team will get home field even if they have the lower record, and depending on that result will have 1 team eliminated or 2 headed to the next elimination round. Long way to go to get there. Only 11.3% thru the first round. |
