Watching the twitch stream last night
I saw some guys talking about pack golf (add up the OVR's of the cards you get and subtract 360. A really bad pull, like a 62 Bronze and a couple of low 40's irons along with 3 mid-50's irons can be -45 or more.
That's cool, but I think pack sales should be based on total OVR rather than guaranteeing a particular level of card. Here's my idea:
Regular packs will get you a minimum of 575 total OVR - lots of irons, with the occasional higher end guy. Nothing is guaranteed, you could get a lot of 58's and 59's. They'l continue to sell for 1000 PP's.
Silver packs will get you a minimum of 675 total OVR - conceivably nothing but high end bronzes, often a couple of silvers, with the occasional gold or diamond. They'll sell for 2500 PP's.
Gold packs will get you a minimum of 750 OVR - You'll likely get either a gold or a lot of high end silvers, and irons will be rare. They'll sell for 10,000 PP's.
Diamond packs will get you a minimum of 800 OVR - mostly high end cards. They'll sell for 15,000 PP's.
I suspect the development team would want to do some in-house testing with the pack subroutine, and might want to tweak either the minimum total OVR or the pricing of the various pack levels, but this would be a major boon to the packs only guys and, I suspect, would reduce the amount of fussing about the collection missions and the price gouging on the AH.
