College / HS Leagues

I'm thinking about doing a deep dive in my fictional league to try and expand the COL / HS levels in the hope of improving the quality of players being fed up to the MLB level.

I've had a bit of a looky-loo around the forums to try and get some ideas without luck.

Has anyone done this and have any pointers for me? Or has anyone seen a thread on here that might offer guidance?

How deep are you planning? Honestly, ootp 21 already has a good hs/col system in place by default IMO. Correct names and everything

My league's COL level only has 12 teams in it at present, the HS one is better, with 32. Perhaps I just need to expand the COL one but where to start and how to go about it?

I remember a thread from a long way back, maybe 3/4 years. I'll try and have a look.

I guess I'm just looking for some ideas on how to set it up in a realistic way though not on the scope of a full NCAA Division 1 structure. Outside of that I'm open to all suggestions, and given my paltry understanding of the game at this level, any pointers are appreciated, including the best websites to do some digging.

How many teams are in your major league that tje HS and Col are feeding? I have a fictional league with 24 major league teams, and 52 HS feeder teams and only 8 college feeders.

36 at MLB level + 6 MiLB levels.

The default set me up with just 8 COL teams along with 32 HS, the latter of which I am fine with - it's only the COL level I am thinking of tinkering with.

One question / concern I have is this: will tinkering with these lower levels actually improve the quality of players coming up or will it just create more 20/20 OVR POT fodder I will end up deleting because they are clogging up the works in my FA pool?

In the Draft rules, when it says DRAFT FEEDING MODE = FEEDER LEAGUE + ADDITIONAL PLAYERS, where are those "additional players" coming from? Are they the RANDOM HISTORICAL ROOKIES FROM ALL ERAS I have checked to be imported automatically? For the life of me I can't remember.

If that is so, and I don't want to dilute the number of real historical rookies coming through, am I better off just leaving the COL as is and setting up a completely new affiliated COL level league that feeds up? Or will that just do the same again?
