Any advice on how to achieve this without a lot of work?

So I'm attempting to replicate the 1994 season (and every season afterwards), with the only thing changing is having no changes to the divisions, keeping the 1969-1993 setup. However importing historical leagues seems to not allow for modifying the league structure, and doing a custom league looks like a LOT of data entry to replicate the MLB and minor league structure that I want to replicate.

Anyone have any advice of what to do here? I'd rather not start at 1993 as I'd like to keep that season intact.

I’m out of town and do not have the game with me but I have definitely modified divisions in a historical game. I have gone so far as to eliminate one entire league and have all the teams in one giant division. All I ever did was go to “edit league structure” I think was the tab.

If you start with a custom fictional league, there's an option to switch to historical teams. Then if you set up the 1st season as you want it shouldn't make any changes to future seasons unless there's instructions to...(sometimes in advanced settings which maybe you can look over before you set your league in motion.)

What he said. I do this all the time. There really isn't any limit to how much you can change the structure of the league compared to a fictional league. If you are playing in Challenge Mode then it is an entirely different story... so don't play in challenge mode.
