Request: Mountain Stadium
So I tried my hand at modding one of silvam's parks to basically swap out the centerfield image with this, but quickly found myself in over my head.
My goal here is for a Coors-type stadium with a large outfield to use with a team at altitude... does anyone know of any custom/fictional ones that would fit? I scrolled through all the ones I could find on here and didn't find too much with a mountain background. Or, if anyone has time... what I was trying to do was take Silvam's Kelley Park (my fave fictional stadium so far, it's gorgeous) and add the mountain background and expand/back up centerfield a bit ... Would be eternally grateful as I've wanted to do an expansion like this for awhile but need to find a good stadium first! Last edited by ankielgoat; 08-06-2020 at 01:26 PM. |

Also have to give a shoutout to Deft for The Wave - another absolutely gorgeous park - but the fences are pretty shallow which is messing with my head
I wish I was sketchup-savvy enough to push the fence back myself but if anyone out there shares the interest either this or the variation on silvam's Kelley park would be amazing

Have you tried locating the image file used as the daytime/nighttime backgrounds for the existing stadiums and simply replacing them with one of your own choosing? I do this often, but not all parks are able to be altered in this way.
Check for an image titled 'background' or 'skyline'. Find an image of your choosing. Scale it to the exact size of the image you wish to replace. Make sure it's saved in the same format as the original (JPG/PNG). Name your file the same as that. Replace it. This set of images are from the textures for Davis-Monthan Field by Daniel Saline. You can often do the same thing to replace ads or dugout caps or on-field logos. Sometimes it won't work this way...but this one certainly does. Many do.

If you need some mountains for a backdrop, I'll suggest this to you:
Download model, extract if need be to your desired location Open up the model that you have downloaded/extracted Open up the textures folder, find the "skyline" texture or whatever is similar to the backdrop of the model Copy that file, make a note of the file's dimensions, and past to desktop Find the mountain/skyline image that you want to insert Use a good freeware image program like this:http://download.rw-designer.com/2013.1/RWPaint32.msi Open up the program I just linked you to, and select the PNG backdrop file you want to replace and edit the image for whatever transparency you want Now open up the file that was included within the texture file of the model, copy your altered texture, and paste it to the original texture Finally, take that texture file and put it into the texture folder of the model file. Open OOTP Settings/Ballpark and add the model to file on the second tab (name escapes me) Reload 3D model tab and see how it looks...If needed, you may have to repeat these processes for further refinement of desired outcome |
