Perfect Cards

Question for the OOTP Universe.

How many perfects have you pulled, regardless of money?

The reason I ask this, I have pulled only 2 perfects, Future Legend Wander Franco and Cal Ripken Jr. They were both pulled on the same account, apart two weeks apart.

This leads me to my question I asked. My other two accounts, have no perfects pulled out of packs. One of the accounts, I have been saving up PP and buying players that way. Opening my free packs that I win in tournaments or get in challenge mode. The other account, in the beginning, I just kept buying packs in the hopes of acquire that first perfect to build the team. Had to shift logic there because I haven't pulled a perfect yet.

If the OOTP developers want ppl to stick around, there needs to be more of chance of pulling great cards. I don't want to hear about how, "The value of the perfect will go down in the AH if you change the pack odds". Don't want to hear it. The game is card collecting game and I have been playing since March and I can't even pack 100 player. LIVE OR NOT.

I have spent money on all my accounts in the hopes of that might change my luck, but nope.....ice cold. Honestly, at this point...what is the point?

Someone asked in a different thread, why are ppl leaving or putting little effort into the mode? Answer is simple, when you are outclassed in tournaments, outclassed in your league, and outclassed in the knowledge of the game...the last resort is opening packs, the joy of this game is opening packs (for me at least). And if the packs aren't good, your team will suffer the very slow grind. Who wants to do that in a game where you whole goal is to make, "The Perfect Team".

Rant over, make fun of me if you want for "whining", but honestly, if you are going to drop missions that only whales can finish, you gotta make pack odds better. That's the only way to keep good cards in the AH and to keep FTP or ppl who are just about hanging on from leaving the game.

On Collingwood, I have opened 1017 packs and I have earned 2 live perfects which according to stated odds is 3 less than I should have received. OTOH, I have opened far less packs for my Tigers' team (maybe 200) and I received 3 perfects including 1 historical perfect. However, my best card was an historical diamond that I sold for 210K. I have no complaints whatsoever about packs. I believe, especially in the current AH environment, that you can sell all cards received for more than you paid. However, variance is extremely high, so you should be prepared to open 1000 packs to see that kind of return AND have the patience to sell ONE BY ONE all 6000 cards.

On Paragon City in OOTP21 I had a 22 Live Perfect streak, it was broken By a Perfect Bonds a couple weeks ago and the last set of iron/bronze gave me a Jimmie Foxx.

so 24 perfects, no idea how many packs I've opened I tend to work the AH to buy packs rather than players, not a great strategy but I have more fun opening 200 packs than I do spending 200k on one player, also means i have pretty much every iron and bronze.

2 of my other accounts have both pulled one, both Live Trout

Ootp wants the Wealthy and the Merchant Class to be designated the guys who "put in the work" and therefor "deserve" the rewards.

Increased PP generation (minimum wage) , or playing with the pack odds (lottery winners), would tilt the game away from their Preferred Customers.

They've got the black Amex cards, you have an ATM Visa.

Accept your class status like a good worker bee.

We can't all have equal access, because the resulting game would be "over" very, very quickly.

No idea how many packs I've opened but I've pulled about 10 or so Live Perfects and maybe 4 or 5 Historical ones? Lat night I had 10K sitting in my account which really isn't enough to buy anything of value...was ticked at my team so said screw it, lets rip 10 packs. Pulled a Rose 91 which is an awesome card (dupe) and a Perfect DeGromm which sold pretty quickly in the AH. Not bad for a 10 pack whim. Most Live perfects I've pulled is usually DeGromm or Max Schwerzer.

Perfects I've pulled that are still on my team are Guidry and John McGraw....sold the rest I believe. Total number of packs opened has to be 750 or less but can't confirm or deny that number. I don't really keep track of Diamonds or Golds I have in reserve unless it is 98 or above usually. So I may be sitting on over 500K in PP and not know it lol. Suppose I should take a look

F2P, pulled 4095 packs, makes 20475 cards (already minus that guarantee card)

The odds are 1:1000, so I could expect 20,475 perfect cards.

Actually I pulled 22, which is a +7,45%.
4/22 have been historicals which is a 18,2% rate.

I know it is a pretty small sample size, but the odds seem to be fair.

/e
I'm doing even better in pulling diamonds and gold cards.
I am +18% there.

btw, any1 knowing what the projected ratio live/historical cards is in theory?

70:30 advertised in XX. I've seen no confirmation that still applies in 21. And certainly "not necessarily" to perfect cards.

Not going to lie....when I made this post last night, I didn't expect people to give me such detailed answers LOL LOL.

We can talk about fixes to tournaments, fixes to the game, etc....but it's meaningless unless you allow users to pull some great cards.

I love the mode and I love the community, but right now...it's a struggle since I know I am dead in the water and the packs haven't helped me at all.

I am so thirsty for a perfect right now on either of my two accounts that haven't pulled one that I would gladly take any live perfect.

Hi,

F2P, 9875 packs (went 'full packs' when I started seeing all-perfect teams in Diamond with which my teams will never realistically compete), 43 Perfects packed, so about six below expected ((9875 * 5)/1000=49.375.)
35% of them have been Non-live so far, so I am beating the odds somewhat in that regard.
Given enough packs, Perfects will drop, and given enough Perfects some actual good ones will drop as well. Just be prepared for long droughts along the way...

My first THREE packed perfects were all Live DeGrom back in XX.

That was...pretty frustrating.

[Incidentally, I did also have a Live Cole "grow into" a perfect from a high-90...so if you're holding high-90 lives when they turn "on" next Monday *IF they do* you could get a happy surprise that way.]

More likely with pitchers than hitters.

That's the part that discourages me right now. Opened tons of packs and the prospect of selling all this stuff is the farthest from an engaging experience. Not only the volume but figuring out which cards are worth what beyond quick sell. Impossible with this interface other than taking 3 days and then circling back to the ones that don't sell and doing it again.

Between my two teams I've definitely opened over 1,000 packs overall, though I can't say for sure how many. I've also spent a decent bit of money, which I used to use on packs but have since only used to go after a big catch on the AH because my pack luck hasn't been good.
I've never pulled a single perfect.

I'm F2P, get packs from Challenge Mode and from tournaments only.

I've pulled Perfect Live Scherzer twice, and a Historical PEAK Greg Maddux and Bruce Sutter.

Have no idea how many packs, probably 500+. I've been lucky to pull 7 perfects, 3 of which are historic, though I'm currently in a long drought since I've packed anything "interesting". In order:

LIVE deGrom, Guidry, Pedro, LIVE Cole, Bonds, LIVE Lindor, LIVE deGrom (again)

So, one person gets 4 historical perfects from 4000+ packs, another gets 3 from 500+. For me, it's very disappointing that an aspect of the game's mechanics can actually be responsible for so much disparity.

I know drop rates will average out with enough packs, but most players won't open the 10,000+ packs needed for that to happen. I feel strongly that perfects should drop more regularly.

They need a pity time, ala Hearthstone. It would define the maximum number of packs that a player opens before guaranteeing the next Gold/Diamond/Perfect card.

pulled a perfect Rickey Henderson with one of my very first packs. it's all been downhill from there. I've opened quite a few through tourneys (no idea how many - F2P), maybe a live deGrom, Cole & perfect Guidry after that.
