Historic Expansion

If I turn off the historical expansion option ( not sure of wording) will the league randomly expand over time, or is all expansion manual?
Have never started a Historical league with this option off.

Just asking because was going to start in 1975 or 1976 as the SF Giants and move them to Toronto, which was on the verge of actually happening until SF mayor stepped in last minute.

If you have "Enable automatic evolution of the league" UNCHECKED, no expansion will take place unless you do it manually.

please note you can't do both, manual and automatic.
if you start manual and switch, the automatic will delete everything you created.

You may be able to have the giants move to Toronto automatically by editing the teams csv file in the stats folder.
You can try copying San Francisco's line over Toronto's. Then remove the original San Fran lines.
Of course you would need to switch the ballpark name on each line.

You wont be able to have rookies go to their correct teams as the game will be looking for those rookies going to San Fran and not Toronto.
However i think the rookies should still be in the draft pool so if you have a draft then it shouldn't matter.

Keep in mind that when you start the historical league the game will start the league with the teams it has in its league expansion. After that it will go by the expansion in the teams csv.

For example if you change the giants to Toronto from 1977-present.
If you start a league in 1976 the giants will start in San Fran in 1976 and then move to Toronto in 1977.
If you start in 1977 then the game will start the giants in San Fran and move them to Toronto in1978.
One way around that is starting a league, then deleting all teams and players and importing the historical teams.
But if your moving teams later and are ok with the original setup then it doesn't matter.

Not sure if this will work so i can't promise it will work but it might be worth a try.
I would advise making a backup of the file first or you will need to reinstall the game.
