Having options or varied results for Mound Visits

I'm not sure if mound visits affect a struggling pitcher or not, but it seems that mound visits are mainly use to buy time for his relief pitcher. I feel that this option is under used a bit cause (In real life) mound visits can help or break a pitcher in a critical in-game situation.

Suggestion for OOTP players with game option of player/manager personalities: give OOTP players an option for a "motivational talk" or "pitching strategy/plan" to help get out of a situation. In which, the effectiveness or results from the mound visit can be affect by three factors:

- Manager's player profile (strategic/personal/tactian/quick hook/etc.)
- Player's personality (Leader/Unmotivated/Selfish/etc.)
- Pitcher's talent/fatigue/perfomance

The mound visit results will be a mix of player's personality, manger personality, and/or pitcher's fatigue/performance/skill that can help increase the effectiveness (or not) of mound visits.

Suggestions for OOTP players without the game option of player/manager personalities: give OOTP players the same option, but the personalities will have no affect on the results; it would be measured on randomization from the game situation and pitcher's performance/talent than personality.

I feel that this would provide a different element to a game and make it more of a reality with mound visits. As not all pitchers are successful after mound visits, but some can get that encouragement from a visit from a coach.

Totally agree with this. I know the game is a “sim” and not an arcade style video game, but I do feel like a mound visit is unique to baseball where a coaches advice words can make an impact during the game. We’ve also seen it backfire.

It should somewhat come down the RNG, but I do think depending on the pitcher, coach and situation, a “boost” for the next batter or two could be a welcome addition.

No joke! A day later after I typed this, my closer walked two batters in the bottom of the 9th. I was winning by two runs, so naturally, I visited the mound to for some kind of affect. He gave up a grand slam and I got eliminated from the playoffs!
