Chuck Freakin' Finley?!
Love the FOTF collection, but damn. You guys did us Angel fans big dirty. It wasnt enough that PEAK Trout is worse than LIVE Trout, but Chuck freakin' Finley representing the Halos for all time.
Are there Dodger fans running this company? sigh. |

When I hear “Chuck Finley”, I actually think of Bruce Campbell’s go-to alias on Burn Notice before I think of the pitcher.

I also had Trout on the ticket, but I didn't even get the Mets (W)right, so who am I to complain...

And I almost forgot. The LIVE mission reward was Wally "dead legs" Joyner. Troy Glaus doesn't even have a card and Joyner has two.
That's it. Sorry Snags, I am hereby announcing a full-blown 365-day hex on the Blue Jays organization. It will affect everything from W-L to drafts, development and more. This hex will be revisited 7/17/21. We Have Spoken. |

To be fair, Finley *does* have the highest accumulated WAR with the Angels of any non-active player... and while Trout is far enough above him already that it isn't even a contest, I can see how someone coming at it from a design standpoint might want to highlight a player whose story is finished. (The baseball-reference.com franchise pages track the top players by accumulated WAR for each team, based only on time they actually spent playing for that team. Finley is 2nd at 51.8, Trout is at 72.8... and counting.)
Totally agree about Joyner/Glaus... despite the fact that Joyner did extremely well for me in the lower levels. (As an Angels fan just starting out about a month or two ago, of course the live mission had to be the first thing I set out to do, and that's one of the easier ones to complete. Incidentally, I'm still using the Percival card that I picked up as my very first auction house purchase.) Hopefully Glaus is in the mix of cards that are planned for later release.

Right, and there are also already four Mike Trouts in the player pool - Live, 2018, Peak, and 2015.

I am fine with Chuck Finley. I would have been fine for another Trout. To me, Mr Angel is Tim Salmon, but that's just me.

I dialed up baseball reference and looked through the Angels career leader boards.
I then became very depressed. |

Going with Finley was fine, making him a fringe gold level player I think is where a lot of the frustration for Angels fans might be. And yes, it would be nice if they ever deliver a Mike Trout who can actually hit the ball

It's unanimous among the small sample of Angels fans I'm in direct contact with, anyway. :-)

The dude landed Tawny Kitaen back when she was still a 10. What more do you want! I would be proud to have that man represent my team!

Currently playing the '93 season in challenge mode. The AI for the Angels didn't think he was the FOTF worthy and traded him to the Cubs.
