Anybody notice the changed rel for diamond and promote from Gold?

So after quite a few weeks where all the levels had 6 promote/ 6 relegation (except, of course, diamond, where it has been 1 promote to perfect as planned), this week there will be 8 teams relegated from diamond and only 4 teams promoted from Gold.

I suspect that is because they are worried that Perfect league is getting too large --- this week it has 36 teams and next week it will have 40 teams.

With the change, diamond league will go down from 27 leagues this week to 24 leagues (-84 teams) next week and gold will go up from 34 leagues to 39 leagues (+164 teams) next week.

Thoughts?

Yes, we're trying to balance things a little bit better. This should let us stay at 40 teams in Perfect for a few weeks, so you may see some small updates to the promotion/relegation numbers for the next few weeks as we try to keep things in check.

We're trying to have some finer control over the number of teams/leagues at each level, so will adjust things slightly each week to stay on target.

My reservation is that 8 relegations from diamond is probably gonna demote some teams that are way too good for gold. I've spent quite a lot of time looking at the bottom half of diamond leagues

. Man, the teams down there can vary some.

I've actually seen some teams in my Diamond that I question on why they are there? A few of them are trotting out mid level Gold Cards. They are getting killed...unless they play me it seems

Tink- I see we are in the same league, correct me if I'm wrong but have you seen this with some of the lower teams?

FYI, we have also decided to adjust the promotion/relegation at the lower levels to 8 promotions and 8 relegations each to stimulate a little more movement through the system as well.

Yes mate, good luck with the rest of the season. And yes, but I've seen some tough leagues where maybe only 3/4 teams should be going down. In those cases, it might be a bit counter productive to send down 8.

This is a really good idea and will help a lot at the bronze through gold levels. However, I hope it will be accompanied by strict attention to tanking because that will become even easier with more teams being relegated.

I like meeting familiar managers/teams and seeing how we all measure up (that's why I think custom leagues would be very cool). It's a shame your Flame Outs (lol) aren't in the same division as my Tinners and Jason's Red Raiders - would be a proper battle royale!

If your boys can barrel 'em, there's plenty of runs to be had at Engine House Field!
