Some Versions Of Same Card Better Than Others?
I was wondering if all duplicate cards are the same. For example my friend and I both have the 95 Special Edition Billy Williams. We have almost always played in the same league. His usually hits 40+ home runs with a batting average of around .300 and has only had one season under 30 home runs in 7 seasons. Mine hits around .265 and has only had a 30 home run season twice in 7 seasons and has never hit 40. Is this a coincidence or is his Billy Williams actually better?

Do you have different ballpark factors?

Good question. I know neither of us have changed our park from the default, but I never checked to see if the default is the same for everyone.

Sometimes for no real reason certain cards just don't work out for people. Ichiro has been the guy for me that is average at best while he continually dominates even at high levels for darn near everyone else. This goes back to last years version as well, he was so inept for me even in low levels I had to get rid of him. This year I think I have bought and sold his SE card like 3 times because he keeps performing like garbage. Even back in rookie he wasn't cracking .300. More recently the gold Ichiro has been doing a bit better for me.

If other teams' Ichiro Suzuki performs better than yours, just remember, your Ichiro Suzuki doesn't get to face your pitching.

What's harder to figure out is a player with good ratings playing in a friendly (to him) ballpark against friendly (to him) pitching that still can't hit his way out of a wet paper bag.
But anyone that's been around PT for a while has seen it. Some guys just don't hit up to their ratings. You can blame it on ResK, unless the batter has a lot of it. You can blame it on lineup position, if you're determined to. But eventually you're just going to convert him to cash and draft his replacement. Last edited by Lemandria; 07-08-2020 at 08:22 AM. |

This year the pitching is terrible along with many many 100 rated cards.Hitters were no doubt given a bump this year and I imagine pitchers too, It's just too hard to figure out anymore unless you have enought money to spend, spend until the right cards are found. Tired of facing 99 Maddux. There is never a week I go without facing at minimum 3 Maddux 99 cards. |
