Can skyboxes be used on fictional parks?
Just wondering if its possible to use skyboxes on the parks that are made by the people here on the forums which use skylines. I tried deleting the skylines and adding the skybox folders to a park, and the skybox showed up but the area where the skyline would be used was blacked out.

Generally the skylines are part of the 3d model. If you just delete the skyline from the textures folder that blacking-out thing will happen because the model still expects it to be there and that's what OOTP does when it can't find a texture.

Damn. Thanks for responding. Is it possible to easily edit that out of the model or am I SOL?

Can you make an object out of the skybox panels?

In theory yes - the model creator would need to draw a big circle around the stadium, then paint the image on it. It would have to be super high resolution (my backgrounds are 4800x1196, so for it to look good it would probably have to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 9600x1200.) It would be "attached" to the model, so it would operate like the normal backgrounds in fictional stadiums, and, we would need the sky removed. So it would be a bit of an undertaking, but it could be done.

Modellers...
This is a link to one of my spherical panorama originals for a box I haven't processed yet. Let me know if you can work this out, because Mrs. Cobb has assured me that we can make many a road trip for good skies...and when the unrest in the cities dies down, I'll even go to the flatlands and get some urban pix.

If you just want the skybox instead of a skyline then I've found you can just make the skyline images in the textures folder completely transparent and that does the trick.
