The Problem With Live Cards

As the screen shot shows, 95 Live Thor is worse in every category than SE Eddie Plank. The only reason you might start Thor is for the GB tendency. I feel a way to fix live cards a little bit is give them ratings that match up with the historical ones, like dropping Thor to a 91 or lower.

Changing the overall won't make live cards any more useable. It's more a matter of how the game has changed, pitchers have high stuff low mov due to the number of homers hit nowadays, similarly hitters have high power low avoid Ks, these things don't work well within PT.

The appeal of live cards was that they might improve going forwards. In the absence of a season, they have remained crummy. That might change in five or six weeks, though.

Live cards should be worse. The live cards are based on somewhat conservatives forecast for current players only. As compared to about 140 years worth of players, some who were phenomenal, who have their stats in the books and posted truly amazing seasons and career peaks. Now this much worse, that could be a fair argument.

The primary problem is that the overalls for live cards are too high. This is not an isolated problem. If live cards had their overall decreased, some would decrease rarity, making the ones that are low to mid in a range, the range below. This would mean that it is easier to get better live cards when the game decides you are going to pull a diamond.
