How to Play With 2 Active Managers

I am playing the 2020 season with 2 players as active managers of their respective teams (Cubs and Red Sox). An upcoming intraleague series will pit the two of us against each other. How can both managers make their decisions on offense and defense during these games?

Thanks!

Dave

Just a suggestion here.....if a 2 game series, 1 each.
If a 3 game series, 1 each, then sim the 3rd.
Let us know how it works out.

This isn’t possible. I would suggest simulating the series.

I think it is possible for both active managers to play, I've done it in the past. I think that the the team with the defense on the field makes its decisions first about setting the defensive positioning, or making pitching changes, etc. Then the offensive team gets to decide whether to hit away, steal, hit and run, etc. If no one knows the controls to do this, I guess we'll just have to try it out.

I can set the AI for the other team to be the AI manager if I do this. I was pretty sure I'd done it before where both managers get to set the defense and control the hitting decisions in the same game but maybe not. I'll let you know... the series isn't until next week.

my son and I just played an incredible 7 game playoff series on the same computer both managing our own teams. I am assuming it is because I was logged in as the commissioner in the league.

if you are not in challenge mode, I would just create a commish account

if you are in challenge mode, then I am not sure if it will work. Not saying it won't. just saying I cant confirm that it does when you are logged in as commish like it did for us yesterday

I played the first Cubs-Red Sox game and was able to play both teams fine. I'm not in challenge mode, but both teams' managers are playing as commissioner. It was easy, as I discovered that both teams can control whether to play manually or let the AI manage, in the "Options" menu after the game has started. The only trick was sometimes I had to change one team to AI in order to have the right menu appear, e.g.. doing a hit and run, or on defense to make a substitution. After those decisions have been made, you need to remember to toggle back to the regular manual manager options in the Options area. If you don't, the AI may make a move you don't like, as happened in my game once or twice.
