Coming off the IL question

Hello all i am new to OOTP and i have jeff mcneil on the IL for an elbow injury. His time is up. Do i have to send him to the minors for a rehab assignment because he's on the 40 man roster?

What I want to do is put him back in the line up but the game won't let me yet.

Any thoughts or comments would be apperciated.

The rehab assignment is totally optional. You don’t Necessarily have to do that....it’s 100% up to you.

All you should have to do is make room for him on your 25/40 man rosters, if needed.

I should mention if it’s the post season or off season their are procedures you have to follow though.

You dont have to send him for a rehab assignment.
It's recommend if he's been out a month or more.

If the game wont let you use him
As Scottiedog said, you have to take a player off the 25 man roster first.
Or, his IL time might be up, but maybe he's still injured?
And, yes, if it's the playoffs it's a whole nother ball of wax
