If both of you are talking about Historical Exhibition mode, the choices for the rosters are "Opening Day", "End of Season", and "World Series (if available)". I had the 1906 Cubbies in a historical exhibition as well. I used "End of Season" mode, and there were 22 players on the roster, when the RL roster had 23. Not bad, but not perfect. I wonder if "End of Season" means who was on the roster at the end of the season. I'd love to see a "Whoever the **** Was on the Roster at Any Point During the Season" option, but alas, 'tis not to be.
I'm going to stick with End of Season though because these are all great teams (historical exhibition with the best teams in history), and great teams tend to beef up during the regular season through trades. The 2015 Blue Jays for example were absolutely transformed at the Trade Deadline, when they brought in David Price, Troy Tulowitzki, LaTroy Hawkins, Mark Lowe, and Ben Revere, and that's when they went on an absolute tear, going 43-18 down the stretch. Cliff Pennington, and Darwin Barney came over in September as well, when the infield started getting dinged up. That stretch of two plus months was the most fun I've ever had as a Blue Jays' fan, and I'm a day oner. It seemed like we couldn't lose. I would imagine Randy Johnson would be on the 1998 Astros roster at the end of the season, but with Seattle on Opening Day, so yeah, I'm definitely going with the end of season rosters.
