How do I select/hire an owner

Hi all,

So, I must have mistakenly clicked on something, as my owner is no longer there and when I click on Front Office > Owner, it's showing "No Owner".

How do I undo this or get my owner back?

I'd look through the online manual for an answer, however, OOTP Developments seems to be having a technical issue with their online manual as it's not currently available.

my game computer is not functional now, so i can't check for the exact screens .... but ... either main team screen, or financial (settings) - there is a box under the owner to edit him (her). If you open that screen, you can create a new owner - you may need to be in commish mode though.
As far a i recall, there is no way to just find an old owner to take over, though it may be possible if you sim a few days, the game MIGHT create one? Dunno. That's a guess. But i have self created a couple of owners when i was creating an expansion team and wanted lots of flexibility. i think that will still work even there isn't an owner to edit. But as i said, my game computer is dead and a new one isn't coming for a few weeks i think, so this is mostly from memory and speculation. Hope it helps and works for you.

Thank you for the reply, Mitchkenn. I believe you are right, there appears to be no way to re-add an old owner.

I'm just going to start over, seeing as I just barely created the league.

This is something of an annoyance with the game. The Club Owner/President should be a Front Office position just like GM, FM, BC, PC, HC, SD, and TR... Players should be able to create a Owner Retires or Sells Team League Event or Transaction to do this. I really want this enough that OOTP 20 will be the last version I buy until they add this to a later version. It's something that should be simple, but is important to those doing Historical Replays that don't follow History to the letter. Waiting on "random" Owner events is bogus and in fact should be an On/Off setting where the Off setting lets the Player create the Event/Transaction.

Editing a bit more on owner that has been created by the game would be nice.
In historical I don't like looking at setting the NYY owner to George Steinbrenner and see that he is not meddling at all and very easy going. I can edit name but nthat's it.
Would be nice to edit those things that make an owner difficult for GM or easy. In historical the feel having real names goes a long way, but also how some like Steinbrenner really make a difference
