Hey! Can a financial sleuth tell me why my horrible expansion team is in the red?
I have't really done much this season, and you've all been super helpful wit advice on getting my MiLB up and running!
But, I can't seem to figure out why I'm in the red. I think it's because my owner is allocating me $27 million to go over budget? I'm not too sure. |

You're in the red because you have a budget of $95 million and expenses if $130 million. That doesn't take much sleuthing.
Why do you think your owner is allocating you $27 million to go over budget? Are you talking about "allocated budget space"?. That's not money to go over budget with. That's money from your budget to allocate to specific areas Like the draft You have $33 million allocated to the draft. But, you spent $5 million. Did you already draft, and sign your draftees? If so, there's no reason to allocate an additional $28 million to the draft. |

sure it's not just your eyes after all that pot? lol just kidding
your projected other expenses are quite high but that also includes the "other expenses" that expansion teams get saddled with. I would go into the editor and remove those

You're actually not in that bad shape. By my count, looks like your expected expenses are around 120M, and your projected revenues are 150+. You're just in the "red" because your owner's budget pre-season was only 95M.
So yeah, you might end up way over budget, but you'll still come in under the team's total revenues. And as mentioned, if you don't spend all 33M on draft expenses, that will bring you in a lot closer to the 95M. |

This is my first OOTP game or franchise, so I actually haven't changed anything related to budget since the league began at the start of the season. EDIT: Does my owner determine how much money is allocated for the draft? Last edited by DHangelfan; 05-07-2020 at 04:26 PM. |

Much appreciated! I haven't changed anything since I started up the league, so it's all the financial structure that came default. I was unaware I could change anything related to budget as the GM/Manager. Appreciate the advice! EDIT: Actually, if I can ask further, are there penalties for going over budget? I feel like if I went over budget by $30 million in real life, someone would be very upset. Last edited by DHangelfan; 05-07-2020 at 04:24 PM. |
