Duplicate Players

Hi... new to the game (2 weeks) and just completed my 2nd season as the GM and Manager of the Cubs. Love the game so far but I'm noticing duplicate players popping up and it's starting to become more and more frequent. It all started when it seems like I was facing Dellin Batences an odd amount of times but just figured he got traded and I had to face him more times now that he was with Milwaukee. After double checking after the fact, he was on both teams. I just figured it was a minor glitch and didn't really thing much more about it. Fast forward to Free Agency 2021 (after my 2nd season) and I'm see duplicated all over the place - I declined Craig Kimbrel's option and he's now on the FA List twice. Same with Noah Syndergaard. Javy Baez, Rizzo, and Bryant are all on the FA list even though they are under contract on my team. Any thoughts? This will kill the game for me.

Also, I looked at Kimbrel again and each Kimbrel has it's own unique stats for the 2020 and 2021 seasons and he was on my team. Not sure how that happens!

Any help is appreciated before I bail on this game and ask for a refund.

That's quite odd and definitely not something that should happen. It's not even something I've heard of before, so we'd definitely need to see your actual league files to check the settings etc to see if we can figure out why that might have happened. There are instructions on uploading files in my sig, if you can do that and let me know what they're called (or just upload them to dropbox or another sharing site and post the link to that), then we can check that out.

So, I definitely had two MLB leagues going but not quite how I did that. I'll have to go back and try to recreate. I don't think there's an issue as of now.

I just had this happen to me in my replay. I purchased Robbie Ray in an auction in perfect team. When I resumed my OOTP 2020 season replay, he had been added to my "reserve roster" on my sim team and my #1 starter had been DFAd. I'm also now logged in to challenge mode and can't do anything to delete the duplicate Robbie Ray.

Seems like something weird happening with Challenge Mode, as that was something that was also changed on my sim league. In any case, this ruins hours of playing and I'm really disappointed.

I'm having the same issue. 2 screenshots attached.

Over the past 2 seasons I've been able to draft/collect players like Alonso, Jimenez, Tatis Jr, Bichette. Now they're all showing up in the upcoming 2018/2019 draft with much higher potential (closer to their real stats).

I'm going to pause playing until this is figured out. What do you need me to send you?

I'm having the same issue with duplicate players showing up in drafts.

Starting a 2019 Blue Jays Historical lineup game, with real historical rookies ends up with the following issue:

SS Bo Bichette on Active Roster, AAA Roster
2B Cavan Biggio on AAA Roster Twice (Once as 2B, Once as 3B)
3B Vladimir Gurerrero Jr. on Active Roster and A Roster
SP Jordan Romano on Roster Twice (Once on AA and on AAA as RP)
SP Jacob Waguespack on Active and AAA Roster
SP T.J. Zeuch on A Roster and on Active Roster as RP

I tested this with other years and got Cavan Biggio to show up twice as a 1B with a 2018 Start.

I followed the instructions "FTP the zipped league files to our support server (instructions here: How to FTP files to OOTP Developments ) and add the league file name to your post.", but clicking on that "How to FTP files..." link leads to a broken link.



I thought perhaps it was due to the "use historical rookies" being checked, so I tried unchecking the historical rookies box and while if fixed the duplicate players, it also wiped out anything beyond AAA and AA, the whole farm system, and the proper team names.

For anyone with the duplicate rookies, issue, what patch did you originally start playing your save on? Was it the initial beta patch or a super early patch, or was it more recently?

There were some data linking issues really early on that might've caused this, but they should've been fixed in one of the earliest patches.

I'm using the most current, current content from Steam. This has never happened to be before this week.
