Game Crashes with TotalMinors...stats screwy.

I'll keep this brief because I'm not sure if this was brought up or not prior, and I'm in a bit of a hurry, hence the reluctance to use the search feature.

Anyway, I've been using Total Minors 1.1. After anywhere between 5-7 seasons of simulating, the game will crash anywhere between the 80-100 games in. After reloading the game, the stats of players are reflective of playing maybe 30 or so games. The league leaders shows no one under batting avg. After the 5-7 season mark, the seasons continue to crash. Any suggestions? This is after running about 4 different careers.

I'm on a P4 2.16 gHz, 512MB Ram, 128MB Geforce4ti4600, windows xp pro.

I've never had this happen with v4.

If more details are necessary, I will be glad to provide them.

ok, i'm sorry for the laziness...i'm having the exact same problem as chinaski. i think it may have to do with using Simulate X years, but I haven't bother to try to isolate that as the problem yet.

yes, i've tried reinstalling. yes, everything is updated on my computer.

always happens by 2007, around the 100 game mark. from there it happens mostly at the same mark year to year, sometimes happening in the offseason.

just an update...

i just used the simulate x years with ankit's DB starting from 2003 until 2014, and the game didn't crash.

i'm assuming this crash is either fixed with 5.10 or has to do with the total minors set.

This is happening to me too. Except I only simulate month by month and its usually in may or june. A message keeps popping up saying that OOTP5 has cause an error, would you like to send a report? (Or something along the lines of that)

I am having this problem now as well (or a version of it).

I have been trying this on three completely different machines, get the crash consistently near 2010, usually using "Simulate X Years." (Machine specs available if requested ... just confirming the problem for the moment).

In fact, have been unable to get "Simulate X Years" to progress cleanly past 2013 without a crash since the patch (not drawing any conclusions there, however ... only about 8 post-patch trials).

I was using TotalMinors for many of these crashes, but decided to test it with the game's default rosters as well and had similar results.

A different wrinkle for me is that I remember this problem happening to me with 5.01 but being -much- less frequent. That's not a scientific observation though.

It always crashes with the TotalMinors roster when using Simulate X Years. Not always at the same time, but usually after only a few seasons.

It happens sometimes with the stock rosters and I can't remember it ever happening with custom leagues and I've simmed some leagues for almost 200 years.

It happens on both of my computers.

I'm having the same problem as well. I also use Total Minors Roster. For me it usually starts around 2009-2010. If I simulate the whole season or month by month, it will crash randomly. And what I also noticed that all the stats that were produced during the sim is erased up until the last time the game was saved. So I tried simulating the season week to week and I had no problems. However around 2015 its starting to crash with week by week simulations. So it seems to get worse as there are more and more seasons. So I wonder weather total minors is causing the crash or is it a bug in the game.

Same crash in 2010 when on "autopilot"....over and over again. All of the 2010 season stats are wiped clean with the crash.

I'm using OOTP 5.10 and Total Minors v.1.1.

I'm using total minors too w/ ootp 5.10. Windows XP pro, 512 ram, 1.2 amd athlon, TNT2. Hope this helps.

It is good to know I am not the only one with this problem. Unfortunatley, we have no solution yet.

I would like to see Steve download the TotalMinors roster set and simulate for about 15 years to see if it crashes.

Seems to me this is not an OOTP bug, but a 3rd party editor bug.

Might want to post this in the MODS forum so it will get better response, or email GForce

There is nothing in the roster file that would cause something like this. All players are merely edited versions of players generated by the game, which means they are the same guys generated in fictional leagues, just with name and ratings changes. Guys have posted in other threads having simmed many years with TotalMinors and having no problems. I've simmed and had no problems as well.

I don't know. I give on using the totalminors roster. Maybe I will try the new version when it is released. It always crashes around 2009. The stock roster that come with the game crash around 2009 too. I've never had a crash with leagues generated with the Custom League function of OOTP5. It doesn't make sense. OOTP doesn't know the difference between the leagues.

I own a laptop and a desktop. I get the exact same crash results with both machines.

like I said others have simmed past 2009 with it. If it were a roster issue, everyone using it would experience it. That hasn't been the case.
