Batter vs. Pitcher matchup stats

I just noticed this, and I don't know if it's by design...

Batter vs. pitcher history seems to include history from the minor leagues, in addition to major league history.

I just found an example (note: I'm in the pre-game screen) where only two of my hitters have history against the starting pitcher. The two hitters? Hitters with very little major league service time; one of which is only about 15 games into his major league career.

Not sure how to screencap this so that the issue can be illustrated. Has anyone else noticed this? In my opinion, the only history that should count in this regard is major league history.

I think that just shows what team the pitcher plays for currently as some are listed as free agent.

That’s really irrelevant here because the player in question is a rookie with about 10 games of MLB action.

Doesn't that make the minor leagues games more relevant then?

Not that we should be looking at batter vs pitcher matchup for anything more than a record of what has already happened

When I look at the pre-game lineup screen, the stats vs. the starting pitcher should not factor in minor league stats.

Exactly. The batter has experienced that pitcher in the past so it is valuable data.
