Player Development

I am in my second season (2021) and have allocated $13M to player development....yet my best prospects continue to decline. Any hints as to what I am doing wrong?

A number of factors go onto player development

Here's a link to the page of the manual dealing with player development
https://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com...er_development

Ratings are also linked to scouting. So changes in rating could be because of scouting, and not any change in the players

It’s a marathon not a sprint. 1 year is far too short of time to notice any difference in a feature that isn’t meant to make a huge impact.

Lot goes into it, including more than just player development. I like to develop a organizational philosophy when I start a new save. So let’s say I’m going all in on power pitchers. I’m going to try and build my coaching staff up and down the minors with coaches that focus on that development. Same goes for hitters, but you can sometimes take the opposite approach. For example, I usually draft hitters based on contact and eye, and mix my hitting coaches to focus on power and patience. If they already are high contact players, maybe the coaches can bring some power out of them.

Again, sometimes things just wont work out. But I really believe if you stick to your guns and have a set strategy, you may find yourself with better results.
