Cannot log in: Could not Sync Cards

After I click the logon for PT, it goes well until it gets frozen at "Please Wait while OOTP loads player cards from the server" and after a while, it goes away and says "Could not sync your cards, please retry." I haven't been able to get on for 4-5 hours, trying every hour or so. I've seen 2 separate forum posts about this but neither of them really had a solution other than to wait. I've restarted the computer and logged out of my account and back on, and it persists. Should I just wait another couple more hours for it to sort itself out, or is there anything else to get myself logged in?

Since 9 p.m., although this is the first time I've checked since then.

Show tournaments yields delay and then cannot find message and attempted perfect team log in also leads to dela and then message about failure to sync cards. Is this related to the maintenance issue? I'm in EDT if that matters.
