Out of the Park Baseball 21 powers the MLB Dream Bracket
Hi everyone! On behalf of all of us at OOTP Developments, I'd like to say how proud and honored we are to be partnering with Major League Baseball powering their Dream Bracket competition.
Markus and team have done an amazing job putting everything together for the entire three-week tourney, which will showcase OOTP 21 at its best in MLB.com and MLB Network livestreams featuring their announcers. Thank you ALL for your incredible support over the years, which has been instrumental in helping us get to this point today. We are thrilled and humbled. All sorts of details about it are here: https://www.mlb.com/dream-bracket Thank you!

Astros should be on the NL side and the Brewers on the AL side, I think, instead, where each team has spent most of their franchise histories to date. I'd rather see Baltimore face Milwaukee and the Giants face Houston, to be honest. Just my opinion here, of course. CD out.

For anyone who wants to try something similar to this with OOTP, there is a mod on the Steam Workshop called Baseball Greats for OOTP21.

That's why OOTP is still the best baseball sim in the world!
Congrats to Markus and the team!

Is it possible to re-create this on our own? Or will a QS/Template be available when the tourney is over? It would be awesome to run this...

Congratulations!
I also wanted to mention a smaller sight that I frequent, but is also using OOTP in simulations. The sight is www.piratesprospects.com. They are a sight that specializes in Pittsburgh Pirates prospects. They are using OOTP to do 2 different simulations. One is a simulation of the 2020 season highlighting the Pirates, and the other one is a simulation of the 2025 Pirates season following the current Pirates prospects. Congratulations on all the additional notice. |

Personally, I'd love to do a 162-game season with the teams. And there's a couple of questionable selections I'd like to rectify (are they really saying there's only ten pitchers in Tigers history better than Joel Zumaya, and that merits his inclusion?!?)

There is Baseball Greats for OOTP 21 on the Steam Workshop that has rosters very similar to these.

Not on Steam, so that doesn't do me any good.

Does it have Negro League players in it?

I thought that there was a Quickstart for this? I know I have used it in the past...
Yeah it is still there and called the all time greatest!

No, I'm referring to the Steam Workshop mod that was mentioned in the post directly above mine.
I'm hoping that a "licensed" quickstart of the rosters used in the Dram Bracket competition will be released after the competition takes place. In the interim, Garlon's mod might be an acceptable substitute if it contains Negro League players.

Kris has said on stream that a quickstart release is something they want to do. They have to work with MLB and Draft Kings as far as when they can actually release it though.

BigRed, I included a team of Negro League players as well as a team of players from the 19th century for a total of 32 teams. Players only appear on a single team. There are more details in the thread I posted and in the workshop, and I posted the rosters in the thread and in the Workshop too.
