Retirement Issues - 51 year old sluggers?!?!

Ok I'm doing a sim with 8 teams. I drafted two leagues one for the best pitching and one for the best hitting, just cause I wanted to see what it did.

I did custom league used default players and set the time period to 1960. The game correctly adjusted all players year of births to be correct for 1960, but I think a large amount of the players have been drinking from the fountain of youth!

1980 has come and here are the records?

The All Time Home Run Leader is 51 years old and still rated at

5/10/6

He's a .282 hitter with 966 career Home Runs, AND he won a gold glove for LF! He even stole 13 bases last season.

His power actually increased in 76 from 9 to 10.

And the thing is this is common. The all time hits leader is 52 at 4163.

Pitchers are the same 49 year old pitcher has surpassed 8000 Ks!

I'm impressed but something seems to be wrong

Maybe although the year of birth is changed the game still thinks they were born the year they were born and thus will keep playing them.
